Modern Warfare Remastered Could be the Smartest Move for Call of Duty

This past weekend, Call of Duty hit its highest Steam player count since last year, largely thanks to a free trial that ran from April 4 to April 8 and the launch of Season 3 on April 3. Season 3 added two new weapons in the MORS sniper and FJX Horus SMG. However, some Warzone players began running into issues while using the MORS that caused on-target shots to regularly miss. Unfortunately, this issue still seems to be unfixed with the newest update, but Call of Duty previously confirmed that it’s scheduled to be addressed in a future pa

Season 6 brings a string of nerfs and buffs to many weapons already in the game, along with the inclusion of additional weapons earned via the Battle Pass at launch. While which weapon players decide to run with may come down to personal preference, some options perform better than others. Here are the best weapons for Season 6 of Modern Warfare 3 and Warzo

For Warzone , running a reliable weapon from the Assault Rifle category can keep players covered when they find themselves in long-range gunfights, or quickly swap to when they are unable to pop off a quick reload. The BP50 is currently one of the best Assault Rifles to use, one which can be kitted out for close range with its Aftermarket Part, or built for medium range. Other great options include the MCW , the Holger 556 , and the STG

Modern Warfare 3 ‘s update also addressed various bugs, including Conversion Kits not being fully removed from the Gunsmith menu after unequipping them, Armory Unlock Challenges not displaying a message upon completion, and the Weekly Challenge countdown timer not displaying the correct t

As for Modern Warfare 3 ‘s update, Call of Duty ‘s SVA 545 AR received the only major weapon balance change, which is buffed with increases to its maximum, near-medium, and medium damage ranges. MW3 sees the same attachment changes as Warzone , along with “improved consistency” for penetration damage while using the MORS’ Photonic Charge barrel. MW3 ‘s gameplay changes include an improvement to spawn logic while enemy killstreaks are active and additional spawn points added to Shipment that should improve the probability of a good resp

The JAK Lance is an Aftermarket Part for the MX Guardian, one of the many carry-over weapons for Modern Warfare 3 . This nifty attachment converts this fully-automatic Shotgun into more of a long-ranged weapon , reducing its magazine size to three rounds and changing the weapon’s ammunition into a bolt projectile. While this Aftermarket Part is far from one of the best weapons in Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone , it can be a decent consideration with the best load

The update also changed a couple of Modern Warfare 3 ‘s Vests . Now, players who equip both the Ninja Vest and Reinforced Boots will gain the effects of Running Sneakers, and the Compression Carrier Vest now immediately triggers health regeneration after getting a launcher kill. Additionally, C4 can no longer be detonated until it’s been stuck to a surface for half a sec

Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone are constantly evolving, with each new season bringing all-new maps, game modes, additional weapons, and unique Aftermarket Parts into the game . While additional content provides a good change of pace, the meta for both Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone is also constantly shifting, leaving some players to wonder which weapons are the b

The JAK Lance is an excellent option for players looking to take down opponents in a single shot with speed and precision in Core Multiplayer. However, its small magazine size does limit its versatility quite a bit. With that being the case, players may want to take a weapon from the Handgun category to fall back on in situations where they are unable to reload. The WSP Stinger still shines and is one of the best Handguns in the FPS game Patch notes, though the Renetti and the COR-45 are also decent considerati

While I feel Modern Warfare deserves some rightful attention away from simply existing alongside new ideas, I’m in no way surprised to see Activision use a beloved classic as incentive to invest in Infinite Warfare’s dubiously-titled Legacy Edition . It’s a smart-move, unquestionably — and one that I suspect a large majority will be gritting their teeth over — but in itself, it will determine just how far this newfound remastering business goes. In the end, much like everything else with a price-tag attached, it’s down to the consumer as to how far this model succeeds. And while I’m not flat-out defending Activision’s cleverly sneaky demand of the green in my wallet, if we’re talking personal affections, I just want a chance to experience something I feel has sadly gone astray in recent iterations: sniper maps. Those more-open, stealthily-prone maps like Modern Warfare’s Overgrown or 2’s Derail/Wasteland that, while don’t punish run-and-gunners, greatly benefit those who approach such maps with a bit more care.

Following the trend of past Aftermarket Parts, the JAK Gunslinger Conversion Kit can be acquired by completing 5 of the 7 weekly challenges for Week 7 of Modern Warfare 3 Season 4. These challenges each offer different variations across Multiplayer, Zombies, and Battle Royale, making them pretty simple to complete regardless of which mode you play. To view the Week 7 challenges, players can head to the Launcher Menu in the pre-game lobby, navigate to Challenges, and select the Weekly
