As 2018 comes to a close, DualShockers and our staff are reflecting on this year’s batch of games and what were their personal highlights within the last year. Unlike the official Game of the Year 2018 awards for DualShockers , there are little-to-no-rules on our individual Top 10 posts. For instance, any game — not just 2018 releases — can be considered.

Marvel’s Spider-Man is the best superhero video game of all time. Sorry to the Batman: Arkham games, I love you – but this game is just so good. I’m kinda sad that it got snubbed at this year’s The Game Awards ceremony, losing to the next two games on my list (spoiler alert)…and also got snubbed at our own Awards ceremony . Boy, oh boy, this game got pushed under the rug.

One of the most popular pastimes of open world games is simply exploring the world itself and seeing what you come across. And Red Dead Redemption 2 Cheats Dead Redemption 2 is filled with secrets (and lots of gold bars.) Simply exploring the world rewards you with valuable treasures, and gold bars can be found in Limpany, south of Cotorra Springs, in the Braithewaite Manor, and in the mountains northeast of Bacchus Station. Watching a grieving widow sobbing uncontrollably over the corpse of her husband can leave you breathless. You can get into a flame war with just about anybody by saying the wrong thing at the right time, and some of the reactions are uncanny. Or what about people who played the whole game and never once experienced the unrelenting terror of an attempted murder at the hands of the “night folk”? That was one of the best “hidden” aspects of this game, and people who didn’t venture into Roanoke at night missed some truly scary mome

It’s also extremely difficult. As someone who had never played video games would say, it’s the Dark Souls of puzzle games. I should probably change the difficulty, to be honest. Either way, I’m having a blast with this game; I wouldn’t even call it a game – but an auditory and visual experience. Go play it.

Bounty hunting has returned from the first game, and while the bounties don’t seem as plentiful this time around, they still provide a decent income for the more morally inclined among us. There are a total of eleven bounty missions throughout the game, and they collectively pay $650. That’s roughly $60 per bounty, which is certainly not a bad take considering the limited amount of work involved. Plus, hunting down bad guys is always a good time. Just those opening couple hours in the snow made you grab a blanket off the back of the couch to wrap yourself in, feeling like the cold was biting while you played it. The Steelhead Trout is easily one of the best fish you can find in the game. Not just because it makes for a good and reliable meal, but because it fetches a nice price. Dutch, a man with a vision who becomes a lunatic with no moral compass. Sadie, who starts the game as a sort of victim and proves by the end to be the most dedicated and strongest member of the group. We even get more insight into John Marston (even Arthur makes fun of the fact that he can’t swim, which is meta and genius). But that wouldn’t go with Dutch Van der Linde’s positions against industrialization, modernization, and technology. Dutch, who I couldn’t help but see and hear as a more handsome Matt Foley from SNL , finds a rival in Leviticus Cornwall, a captain of industry and one of the many banes of Dutch’s existence. He may as well have ended every encounter him by shaking his fist at the sky and screaming “Cornwall!” in anguish. Using Cornwall as a target, Dutch fashions himself as a man of the people, wanting to go back to a time before “law and order” and attempting to score cred by helping some local angry indigenous folks. As Arthur Morgan discovers later, this is all part of Dutch’s plan to exploit this tribe’s conflict with the U.S. Army for his own gain.

Red Dead Redemption 2 brings something new to the table; not in the sense of just being a fresh take on the open-world genre, but being a revolutionary landmark in the history of video games. Ever since the release of the original Red Dead Redemption , Rockstar Games has worked tirelessly on this project – controversially so, after the senior writers stated that they worked 100-hour weeks .

The gameplay, the story, the music, the tone, the setting, the atmosphere, and everything – just everything about God of War is an absolute delight. My issue is that the game ended way too early. I absolutely cannot wait for the next installment. Bring it, Sony Santa Monica.
