Lost Ark is an MMOARPG. To be more specific, it’s an isometric MMO with ARPG elements. Think of Diablo or Path of Exile , add in a bit of League of Legends , with the addition of trade skills, base-building (sort of, your island is a Clash Of Clans-style mini-anime game cheats), group Raids, Chaos Dungeons, PvP Arenas, world events, sailing, a mix of classes and abilities with only a small nod at typical MMO roles (Support, Tank, etc.), and much more. Lost Ark is like a table full of food at a family event: there is something for absolutely everyone, even for the people who only eat chips and put ketchup on their Roast Dinner. How dare they.

The Soulfit’s identity gauge is called Energy, or Ki if you’re using the KR/Russian translations. You fill it up by hitting abilities and then activate three separate stages, buffing attack damage and speed. These stages are known as ‘ Hype Modes ‘, although this also goes by different names depending on your server. You can store three elemental at any time, four if you use the Deathblow class engraving. The Paladin is designed as a tanky support class that can provide team benefits in both PvP and PvE. Abilities come in two styles: Yellow (Holy Skills) and Blue (Punish Skills) . These are divided into support and attack damage skills— Yellow for Support, Blue for Damage. However, don’t think you’re going to be much damage. While you can pick up some damage for leveling, your role is solely to support. **** That said, they deal more than enough damage to progress through Chaos Dungeons or Towers on their own.

At level 3, Cursed Doll increases all attack power by 16% but reduces incoming healing. This is not that common in high level raids, but it’s a good place to start during your first endgame runs.

In simple terms: Combat Readiness is for a tanky, shielded build, whereas Solo Knight is for a burst damage and DPS build. Leaning into the Gunlancer’s advantages means that the Combat Readiness Engraving is the one we’d recommend for a juicy, powerful PvE build. It enhances your defensive abilities (shield) while also providing you with plenty of damage buffs. However, Gunlancer is a super-balanced class, and if you’re looking for pure burst damage output, there is a very reliable DPS crit build using the Lone Knight Engraving to clear dungeons and other endgame cont

Don’t be put off by Lost Ark’s isometric style though. This is a highly polished experience. The combat is punchy, weighty, and oh so satisfying. Heavy-hitting classes like the Artillerist use rockets, barrages, and turrets to destroy waves of mobs with bloody gusto. Slick and highly mobile classes, like the Deathblade, dash and slice their way through Elites and Bosses. Even if you’ve not been a fan of games like Path of Exile before (and Lost Ark is different in many ways to PoE, anyway), Lost Ark is worth a few minutes of your time – the sound design, visuals, and impactful mechanics of each class really are at the top of the charts.
