On top of The Hobbit – which is going to be one time-consuming, exhaustive challenge to say the least (just think about the pressure he’s under to “get it right”) – he also has found the time to plan and start writing a trilogy of vampire novels, has a four-picture deal with Universal to make a Frankenstein movie, an adaptation the classic novel Slaughterhouse-Five , a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde movie, and an adaptation of the vampire novel Drood . After that, Universal hopes to pin him down for his “pet project” At the Mountains of Madness . To put it simply: He’s booked solid until at least 2
Also, despite the “cool factor,” Wanted didn’t manage to beat underdog summer flick The Incredible Hulk . I guess more people thought it was ridiculous ( as I did ) than thought it was “awesome, dude!”. However superhero movie fans across the land can weep in unison at the fact that Hulk was not able to defeat three hip, New York City powershopping babes on the prowl for true l
Despite this, I still have faith in the man to pull off all he has committed himself to. Like I said, he certainly has the talent as a filmmaker to pull it all off, we’ve seen that with the likes of Pan’s Labyrinth (which, if you haven’t seen already, do so ASAP – it really is that good), Hellboy (not so much with the sequel, although it was still a fun watch) and The Devil’s Backbo
“I originally wrote a very long outline for a TV series I wanted to do called ‘The Strain.’ And then the network president at Fox said to me, ‘We do want something with vampires-but could you make it a comedy?’ Obviously, I responded, ‘No thank you’ and ‘Can I have my outline bac
“I love ‘The Rundown.’ I don’t know if the audience was quite ready to accept Dwayne [at the time]. We had a certain amount of resistance… They screwed around with our release date, but the film still performed we
I went on to say that McHattie (arguably the best actor in the film besides Jackie Earle Haley as Rorschach) deserved more screen time than he got in Watchmen , and how it was especially disappointing that his climatic death had been axed from the theatrical vers
Along with the awards, the show will also be airing some exclusive, world premiere of footage of some of the most anticipated movies of 2010! Presenters and musicians for the event are to be announced shor
Having said that, just think about this: the studio has already hired two writers for Hancock 2 , and so it seems they want to get more info it into theaters sooner before later. I’ve said it before but I’ll reiterate – could we see Berg departing Hancock 2 and the studio bringing in another director in his place? If they want to get this thing in the can soon, and Berg is busy, it only makes sense that he’d be replaced. It’s not like the reason people went to see the first Hancock was because Berg directed… And he already had to drop out of the Dune remake
Now that we’ve seen that , is there really any other reason to see Watchmen: The Director’s Cut ? To answer that question for yourself, take a look at some of the other deleted scenes you’ll be seeing by going he
Are you looking forward to Hancock 2 ? Are you annoyed it will be hitting theaters later rather than sooner? Would you be bothered if Berg didn’t come back to direct again, since he appears to be ultra-busy with other proje
I’m surprised that the “ultimate” cut only runs 15 minutes longer than the director’s cut. Is the stand-alone version of Tales of The Black Freighter that is being released on March 24, 2009 , going to feature scenes that WON’T be included in the “ultimate cut” Watchmen DVD/Blu-ray? It certainly seems like it. Damn, that means I’ll have to watch Tales of The Black Freighter if I want to get the whole Watchmen experience. Slick move, Warner Bros. Slick move indee
“Unfortunately, I’ve found in my video game experience that the big companies are just as conservative as the studios. I was disappointed with the first Hellboy game. I’m very impressed with the sandbox of Grand Theft Auto. You can get lost in that world. But we’re using it just to shoot people and run over old ladies. We could be doing so much more…. In the next 10 years, there will be an earthshaking Citizen Kane of games… I’ll be trying to make it. But I won’t be trying until after The Hobb
2008 delivered the kind of summer that superhero and action movie geeks dream of – this is the year that brought us three bonafide superhero movies: Iron Man , The Incredible Hulk and what was that third one… oh yeah: The Dark Knig
There’s been much talk about a sequel to the 2008 surprise superhero hit, Hancock , with conversation picking up particularly when it comes to the cast of Will Smith, Charlize Theron and Jason Bateman possibly returning to do another. Director Peter Berg said a few months ago that everyone was excited to return , but not long after that Bateman came out and said he hadn’t heard anything about him returning (we’re still not sure if that cluelessness was applicable to Smith and Theron, t
