Others, such as the variety of “Strangers” you meet along the way or Random Encounters with other characters, can be more involved side missions that let you engage with some interesting, colorful new characters out in the open world Games story guide while completing activities like hunting, fishing, or collecting bounties and debts on wanted men. Even exploring the game’s various shops and towns can deliver some unexpected secrets to find and possibilities to discover, such as uncovering “illicit businesses” that some of the shopkeepers find themselves involved with. Red Dead Redemption 2 ‘s world always offers something worth finding, if you’re willing to dig deep enough and go off the beaten path. In another instance during my travels, a trail of blood I found on the side of the road ended up leading me to a mangled, bloodied corpse; investigating further ended up putting me on the path to a whole side mission that I probably wouldn’t have found otherwise if I hadn’t strayed from my path a bit.

Red Dead Redemption 2 has been hyped to hell and back as of last week, and while still not too much is known about the narrative that will be presented, I just can’t help but want another Rockstar tale that blows my mind. The ending of Red Dead Redemption might be one of my favorite endings of any video game ever. Until more is shown, though, I can only dream.

While the map has yet to be released for Red Dead Redemption 2 , one can assume that there will be many bodies of water featured, much like in the previous game. Unfortunately, the bodies of water that were featured, mainly the San Luis River, were pretty static and mostly just served as barriers to parts of the map yet to be unlocked. The truth is, during the time of Frontier’s men, boats were an essential mode of transportation. Getting to paddle down river in a canoe as a giant casino ferry boat passes by would make for a much more fun and immersive experience. Getting to then hijack and send that giant casino ferry boat over a waterfall would just be the violent cherry up

The year is 1911. John Marshton was once a dangerous outlaw but has left that life behind to pursue the simple pleasures of being a family man. John is enjoying his new life until the Bureau of Investigation visits him to work out a deal with him and take his wife and kid into custody for leverage. As a former outlaw, John is facing some serious penalties for his past but the FBI is willing to cut him a break if he brings his former gang members to justice. John agrees to these terms, not like he has much choice, and travels to Fort Mercer to confront his former rappy, Bill Williamson. Things go horribly wrong and instead of bringing anyone to justice, John is shot and left for dead, only to end up in the care of Bonnie MacFarlane.

The reason Jax carries around a lamp is because authorities thought he was too strong to have a real weapon. So they wouldn’t allow him near any blade or bludgeoned end. He’s still incredibly annoying with that lantern and is so OP at times. But didn’t you wonder what caused him to go dark? Maybe…just maybe he lost his father at a young age. Not to passing exactly, but to a place beyond the stars. Bard would continue to wander the planet for years, rarely looking back for a second. He had bigger plans on his plate than carrying for a son

Throughout the numerous towns and areas you’ll visit in Red Dead Redemption 2 , you’ll run into plenty of general stores and gun shops where you can stock up on supplies during or in-between missions. While ammo and healing supplies are naturally items you’ll want to pick up when you have the opportunity, two particularly useful items (at least I find) you should always make sure that you have in supply when needed are gun oil and snake oil.

For such a stoic man, John Marston, the protagonist of Red Dead Redemption , was a bit for a clutz. Despite being a frontiersman that should’ve been adapted to the rough terrain of the West, players found their character stumbling around like a drunken fool at the slightest notion of uneven land. It didn’t seem like John Marston had much ability to explore anything other than flat firm ground. Getting a player character that can climb up can ledges and swim across rivers would make for a much more realistic Western character, ready to take on whatever the terrain throws at them. He doesn’t need to have Assassin’s Creed style free running, jumping from tree to tree like a flying squirrel, but a bit more natural movement and flexibility over what terrain the player can traverse would make for a better character and experie

Part of what made Red Dead Redemption great was its characters. John Marshton was one of the better protagonists in a Rockstar game, which is not exactly a small feat given some of the other games they’ve put out. Giving up his outlaw life to be a family man after a bank robbery went awry, he maintains his tough exterior but seems to be making an honest attempt at being a decent human, even if doing so within the confines of the law is somewhat negotiable. The bar was set high enough with Marshton where the only thing I’m mildly worried about with Red Dead Redemption 2 is whether or not the new protagonist can match him. Aside from the lead there were numerous other characters. Nigel West Dickens was one of Marshton’s more entertaining companions. Dickens was a swindler and snake oil salesman if there ever was one, but he did assist John on a few occasions, even if it was painfully obvious John wanted nothing more than to pistol whip him.
